MUSIC BY MALEENA

Hi! I'm Maleena, or MusicByMaleena. I am an 18 year-old singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Pittsburgh PA. My love for music started in 3rd grade when I started learning to play recorder. I then went on to learn to play viola in 4th grade. I have been playing bass since I was about 10 years old. I joined Children's Festival Chorus, now known as Pittsburgh Youth Chorus when I  was 9. I sung in the Junior Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh. In 2016, I joined School of  Rock performance group. In April 2017, I taught myself how to play guitar. I now play solo acoustic shows. I even organize events for myself and select other young musicians to perform. In 2016, I created a YouTube channel (MusicByMaleena) to document my progress as a musician. It has been a dream of mine since I was a young child to be able to perform on stage! In early 2018, I was offered the opportunity to play in the band, Chip and the Charge Ups. I have been playing with them ever since. We have spent many days practicing, many days in the studio, and many days performing. You can check us out at thechargeups.com.
